Description
The California State Lottery was created by a ballot measure, Proposition 37, which was approved by 58 percent of voters on November 6, 1984. The Lottery Act gave the Lottery a clear mission: to provide supplemental funding for public schools and colleges. Since we began in 1985, we’ve given schools more than $46 billion. California State Lottery games are sold at more than 23,000 locations statewide. Nine district offices provide same-day payment for prizes of $1,000 or less and offer help filing your claim for prizes of $600 or more.
